Ministries at Southeast

Below is a list of ministries at Southeast. Each ministry is a wonderful opportunity to meet other members and serve the body of Christ.  If you would like to serve in one of these areas, please fill out the form below and a member of our staff will get you connected to the ministry leader!

  • prayer

Join Southeast's Prayer Team today!  We plan seasonal prayer events, lead morning services on occasion and work together to create new and inspiring activities that help raise the passion for prayer within our church family!  Sign up for our weekly prayer list too!

  • Worship

Whether you play an instrument, sing, or enjoy the technical side of things, check out our worship ministry today!  Depending on your skill level and experience, we will do our best to find a place for you to serve with your abilities! We are specifically looking for tech people, which includes running the computer and sound board. Practices are Thursday nights at 7 PM and Sunday mornings at 8 AM.

  • Children's

Do you have a passion for teaching children about Christ? If so, Children’s Ministry is the place for you! We have many openings for teachers, helpers, and substitutes for ages Birth-6th grade. We also have options for various times during Sunday services. If you can’t commit to once a month, we are also looking for “Go To” people for the occasional help if there are too many kids in one class. All materials and lesson plans will be provided for you. Our most urgent need is teachers for our Bible Fellowship Hour and occasional Substitutes.

  • Student

Our student ministry is currently all about connecting Junior Highers and High-Schoolers to other students their age who share the same faith. Our goal is to give students a safe place to learn and to grow in their understanding of Jesus. We meet every Sunday at 9:30 AM upstairs on the balcony. We are currently looking for female leaders.

  • Kitchen

Can you flip burgers at a BBQ or slice cucumbers for a salad?  Then you are qualified to volunteer in the kitchen! The Kitchen Ministry provides meals and/or snacks for monthly senior lunches, workshops, VBS, Easter and Thanksgiving meals, funerals, coffee and bagels on Sunday mornings and much more. Events can range from 1 hour of your time to dropping off a dessert you make at home to just helping with clean up after Easter breakfast. We have many options to fit your schedule!  We are currently looking for Sunday café workers and as needed volunteers.

  • Finance

Confidentiality of the information is very important that anyone who has access to the contribution records of individual donors keep this information strictly confidential. The finance team is responsible for counting and depositing the weekly contributions.

Each team requires two people each week to count the weekly contributions. Currently we have two counting teams and are looking for a third team. Each team counts for one month and then is “off duty” until their next rotation.

  • Property & Equipment

The Property and Equipment Ministry is responsible for the use and maintenance of the physical facilities of Southeast.  This includes maintenance / repair of the building and related electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.  Also, lawn maintenance during summer months and snow removal during winter months are included in the Ministry’s responsibilities.  Maintenance may be completed by volunteers or by a contractor. The P & E Ministry can use your assistance based on the time you have available for participating with the Ministry.

  • Hospitality

Matthew 20:28 “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." so would you please join us in the Hospitality Ministry by serving our brothers and sisters in Christ? Hey, the coffee does not make itself so maybe you could lend a hand in the cafe? Have an outgoing spirit? How about shaking some hands, handing out some bulletins, or help that new person find their way by greeting. Have a watchful eye? How about pitching in with security? Have a more reserved spirit? We could always use extra communion servers, you don't even have to talk to anybody :) All joking aside, we could really use some help and would love to see you serving alongside us so please consider joining the Hospitality Ministry. We are currently looking for Sunday greeters and Communion Preparation.

  • Women's

This ministry is a loving group of women who want to meet and share their time and love of Christ to build relationships with our sisters. Anyone ages 0-99 can join! Activities are always changing and new ideas are welcome. Current activities include Women’s Bible Study on Wednesday morning and evening, a cooking class, date night, and holiday fellowship lunches. We are currently looking for a co-leader.

  • Care

    Meal Makers:

This is a ministry that serves our church family—usually people who are home recovering from surgery or are in a crisis where they need support and prayers.

    Prayer Shawl Group:

This Ministry is a tight “knit” group of ladies that meets to knit shawls and pray over friends, family, and members of our congregation.

    Food Pantry:

This Ministry strives to collect and create food boxes for those who are in need.

    Mentorship Ministry:

This Ministry is just getting off the ground! We are looking for people who have a passion for helping ladies in need with job and life skills.

  • Missions

The Missions Ministry is in charge of keeping in contact with the missionaries Southeast Christian Church support and helping plan our short and long-term mission trips!

  • Small Group

When Jesus began his ministry, he called 12 disciples to be his primary relational and ministry community.  Jesus chose to love them, teach them, and pour himself into relationships with them, thereby creating the first small group. These believers engaged in life together through teaching, fellowship, communion and prayer. They spent time together, supporting one another. It was a place where people loved, forgave, served, bore burdens, encouraged, prayed for and treated each other as precious members of the body of Christ.
